The Tracing Data Politics Workshop will convene a number of scholars in anthropology, STS, and Critical Data Studies experimenting with applying ethnographic theory, concepts, and methodologies to the study of data resources and environments. We aim to foster conversation around how research frameworks can be organized and how modes of analysis can be cultivated in order to advance understanding of the socio-political conditions under which data are imagined, produced, processed, and circulated.
