My name is Clara Fernández de Bobadilla and I am a PhD student at the Complutense University of Madrid, in Spain. I’m a social and cultural anthropologist and I am currently working on a research project about digital data technicians (i.e. data scientists, data analysts, data engineers) and how different conceptualizations are inscribed on the digital infrastructures they work on/with. Right now I am preparing to do fieldwork, which will hopefully be carried out on the Telefónica Data Lab. In parallel, I work as a predoctoral researcher in a project that compares the experiences and decisions of egg donors in the USA and Spain.
My research interests are multiple, as you can see, but some of the main ones are cognitive science, infrastructures studies, information studies, feminist technoscience or collaborative ethnography. As an anthropologist, I am interested in the 6S workshop because I would love to listen to people with different backgrounds and learn about other ways of building knowledge. I find this space absolutely enriching and I hope to learn from all of you!
