Man sitting at the wheel

I hear the sound of the car. In my imaginations, it is a man sitting at the wheel.
I not only hear the sound, but it is a masculine habitus of taking up space that I hear out of the sound.
But I don't know who is at the wheel.
What cultural frameworks allow me to interpret sound like this? How have I been trained to listen?
