My research interests consider the effect of technology and automation on the labour, labour process and labour relations in the context of redefining means of production and industrial relations. The abstracts submitted here have cast light upon unattended labour processes such as medical care, domestic work etc, in the light of automation. The contemporary STS research is pioneering on the studies of how technology and automation are becoming a factor in losing jobs, they try to understand this process through the framework of the social construction of technology rather than a technological deterministic viewpoint.
