Angela Okune (May 2018): "A productive tension for iHub Research was navigating the balance between producing relevant work in the service of the Kenyan technology sector while simultaneously acting as a grounding point of reference to remind technology evangelists that technology does not exist in a vacuum but emerges out of and operates within a particular sociocultural context. We often heard from clients and readers something like: "we expected your work to just be propaganda for technology solutions, but we were surprised at how critical iHub Research was about the ability of technology to effect change in communities."
