Can citizen science be considered actual science?
At first, this question was quickly discarded by my postgraduate research study group as irrelevant. The topic, however, has constantly emerged during my fieldwork and interviews.
In this video (subtitled) Gonzalo, a birder informant shares his points of view. He focuses mainly on the learning processes and the reality of whether a citizen science program can or cannot give you enough knowledge and expertise equal to a professional scientist.
