Tonya Tartour Collaboration Bio

Text

Post-doc fellow in sociology, working on mental health systems and practices.

I am Tonya Tartour, a doctor in sociology and political science. My doctoral thesis was on the regulation of psychiatric hospitals from a legal and economic perspective. My current research focuses on drugs used in psychiatry: I question the temporality in which drugs install patients, the reconfigurations of nursing work around the new galenic forms available and the role of pharmaceutical laboratories in mental health policies in France.

I particularly like working in groups. I am fortunate to be a member of two laboratories (the Center for the Sociology of Organizations and the Cermes3 in Paris) where working together is an important value. Whenever I have the opportunity, I get involved in collective projects such as the organization of a spring school in April 2022 on the theme of utopias/dystopias and imaginable futures in health.
