Mshaï Mwangola

Mshaï Mwangola (Research and Communication Officer with the African Peacebuilding Hub (APN-Hub), holds a PhD in Performance Studies from Northwestern University (USA). Mshai's work on pedagogy, research and creative work is important to include in our conversations about STS in order to broaden understandings about what "science" and "technology" are/can/should be. Her use of orature and performance as process and product of meaning-making is important to break up binaries of "science" / "culture."

This PECE essay helps to answer the STS Across Borders analytic question: “What people, projects, and products exemplify how this STS formation has developed over time?”

This essay highlights prominant and upcoming individuals working on critical science and technology issues in Africa and is part of a broader exhibit on "STS in Africa."
