Critical Commentary

Photo taken 2013 at one of ESA's launch observation sites at Kourou, French Guiana. In the background, launch VA-215 of the Ariane 5 launcher left a trail of exhaust several seconds after liftoff.

The photo seems split in three parts which seem to symbolize the interspatiality of spaceflight: local material situatedness, sociotechnical appropriation of spaces and relations of space and time. It connects to the endeavour of relating outer space and planetary spatialities that are explores within the SSOS network.
