This issue of Engaging Science, Technology and Society consists of an ORA by Susan Bell, Patrick R. Grzanka, Kelly Joyce, and Laura Senier on understanding publics and science, and of a thematic collection that critically addresses the theme of Innovation in STS. Edited by ESTS Associate Editors Noela Invernizzi and Emily York, the collection consists of an opening piece, by Alan Irwin, entitled "STS and Innovation: borderlands, regenerations and critical engagements," commented by eight perspectives pieces written by scholars from nine different countries, representing great diversity both in terms of the features of the STS and Innovation Studies (IS) fields, and regarding S&T trajectories and capabilities: Hernán Thomas and Lucas Becerra, Judith Sutz, Maja Horst, Pankaj Sekhsaria, Sally Wyat, Sebastian Pfotenhauer, Shobita Parthasarathy and Tiago Brandão and Carolina Bagattolli. In addition, Lily Irani prepared a general commentary, and Alan Irwin wrote an epilogue to the collection. Several perspective pieces are accompanied by pedagogical materials, be they a video recording, an interview, a set of questions, a syllabus, or supplemental documents that can all be accessed below.
