I am a PhD student at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), in the Philosophy of Science program. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and a master’s in Philosophy of Science. I also have over 10 years of work experience in biotechnology and molecular biology.
My current work focuses on biobanks. I’m interested in the management of samples stored by biobanks, especially the dynamics of power that determine how these samples are used by various actors across public and private spheres. The biobanks that I study include a tumor bank and a general biobank for diverse biomedical samples, both in Mexico.
