I am completing my PhD in Philosophy of Science (Philosophical and Social Studies of Science and Technology) at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) on the topic of forensic genetic technologies and public citizen science. I hold a degree in Audiovisual Communication and Economics from the Carlos III University of Madrid and an MA in Visual Culture from the inter-institutional program offered jointly by the Universidad Complutense, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofìa. My key research questions have remained constant throughout this multidisciplinary trajectory, and relate to the ethics and politics of cultural representations of extreme violence in Mexico, with a special emphasis on the intersection of science, technology and contemporary art practices.
