Dr Ashok Jain is a Ph D in Physics and Fellow of National Academy of Sciences, India. Dr Jain’s professional career started in Physics research and teaching at the Universities of Delhi, Kyoto (Japan), Bristol (UK) and International Centre for Theoretical Physics (Italy).
Subsequently Dr Jain was appointed Science Attaché, Indian Embassy, Tokyo, Director in the Department of Science & Technology and Director (NISTADS) National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies. He is currently Honorary Vice President for Research and Academic Development at EMPI Business School involved in a Mission programme ‘Innovative India’ launched by Honourable Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, past President of India. Dr Jain is also associated with S &T & Innovation Policy and Strategy work in several countries of Africa, Asia and Europe with the Commonwealth, European Commission, Asian Development Bank etc.
He has over hundred publications in Physics and in the multidisciplinary area of Science Technology and Society Studies and co-edited books, latest being ‘Science and the Public’.
