Critical Commentary

The website links to oral histories of seven women scientists who immigrated to the United States for their education during the 20th century. The oral histories  indirectly provide a window into the shifting political economies of science in the United States by pointing what fields were open to immigrant women, and women of color, in science. I am also curious how gender and sexuality is framed in these interviews, and how the United States is described in relation to their immigration experiences.
