BATAAN NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

In the Philippines we have this Republic Act No. 5207 that provide for the licensing and regulation of atomic energy facilities and materials, establishing the rules on liability for nuclear damage, and for other purposes.

The government should promote in using renewable energy by initiating in making laws that provide support on projects related to research and development on sustainable energy and implementation of these projects will be visible by building renewable energy facilities.

TAIWAN’S NUCLEAR WASTE

There are two nuclear power plants that are in operation in Taiwan, and it is still under debate whether to activate the 4th nuclear plant or not. It was shocking to my partner that the nuclear waste was disposed at Orchid Island (Lanyu) which pollutes the ocean and harms the people who live in that area. My partner always supports sustainable energy sources even if it costs a lot to produce clean energy.

NUCLEAR ENERGY AS RENEWABLE ENERGY

The rapid rise in the oil price is affecting the economy and makes the lives of every citizen harder. We know that this oil will be completely consumed in the future, and we need an alternative source of energy like nuclear energy. We need to improve and focus on research and development related to renewable sources of energy not only to secure our energy source but to save the planet from the harmful greenhouse gases as the by-product of fossil fuel.
