My name is Grant Otsuki. I am a lecturer in Cultural Anthropology at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.
My degrees are in social-cultural anthropology and STS. I conduct anthropological and historical research on Japan. For my dissertation research, I studied university-based labs creating human-machine interfaces in Japan. I also work on the history of cybernetics, technology in popular culture, and postcolonial technoscience.
I dabble in data analysis and visualization using metadata from academic sources. I'm a member of the incoming editorial team for Engaging Science, Technology, and Society. You can find some of my work at https://www.gjotsuki.net/
I'll be facilitating the "Wishlist 2070" exercise for the 2020 6S virtual workshop.
