University of Michigan, Information and STS
I study how technologies of medicine and governance shape understandings of deviance, cure, and access in lay and professional contexts in the US and in India. My dissertation studies the diagnosis and experience of epilepsy. I sit at the intersection of disability/health, medicine, and technology, and I thrive in interdisciplinary spaces. I use multiple methods, including ethnographic and qualitative methods (interviews and participant observation), programming (5 years of software industry experience), technology design, and data science.
