FLACSO-Ecuador and the National Polytechnic University will organize the 6th Doctoral School of Social and Political Studies on Science and Technology of ESOCITE (Latin American Society for Social Studies of Science and Technology) which will take place from August 19 to 21, 2019 in Quito, Ecuador.
The meeting aims to bring together a group of around 25 young researchers at the advanced stage of writing their doctoral thesis with the purpose of discussing advances in their research, analytical models, applied methodologies, and the contributions made to the STS field and to the societies of the region.
It is intended that young people have a privileged space in the formation of a scientific community, shared with academics consolidated in the social studies of science, technology and society in the Ibero-American sphere. In addition to discussing the progress of research on doctoral thesis, another objective of the program is to strengthen national and regional research networks. In particular, strengthening the network of knowledge among researchers; public and private institutions of research, development, and innovation; and the society of social studies of science and technology, STS-Ecuador.
