Critical Commentary

"The Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine invites participation in the third installment of our “Anthropology in Transit” workshop series, which creatively leverages the extraordinary concentration of cutting-edge anthropological scholarship in Southern California. This workshop will build on the successes of the two day-long, commuter-friendly symposia held during the 2009-2010 academic year. The department is pleased to continue this forum, informally termed the “405/91/5 workshops,” as a means of promoting dialogue between colleagues in the region. The workshop will provide an opportunity for graduate students to present papers, discuss their work, and expand possibilities for anthropological research, contributing overall to a regional community of young scholars, as well as strengthened networking with faculty in Southern California."
