Critical Commentary

In this CASTAC blog post, Emily Brooks characterizes a struggle between different factions of environmentalists to understand the renewable energy affordances of Southern California's desert landscape. "Many environmental activists question whether landscape-scale renewable energy plans actually prioritize the needs of California’s growing coastal cities against the needs of small rural communities, wildlife, and desert ecosystems."
