'Health and Efficiency' poster

These were taken at the University of York around 1987.  They show Trevor, Mike Mulkay and Malcolm Ashmore posing for photographs to illustrate Chapter 4, ‘‘Fury over Prof’s kidney call’: Health economists in the media’, in Ashmore, Mulkay & Pinch (1989) Health and Efficiency: a sociology of health economics. Open University Press.  The chapter consists largely of a collage of media commentaries about health economists, plus a fictional news report on the sociologists at the other end of the campus putting ‘health economics under the microscope’. ‘Cut and paste’ was a material operation involving scissors and glue in those days!
