student in the national defense universities

[my answer]

My answer will be yes, but only for those who volunteered to participate in or those who study in the national defense universities. Since people have the right to choose what job they would like to attend, and Taiwan isn’t a socialist country so the government can’t decide engineers' career. I think the simplest way to increase the number of engineers who volunteered to participate in military related R&D is to add national consciousness in our education and try our best to enhance our country. This would be a forward cycle for military-related R&D.

different directions of military R&D

[my partner’s answer]

Yes, they must participate in Military R&D. However, the government should prioritize other R&D directions too.

Benefits are strong army and military technologies. Limitations are weak development of other technology.

Government Incentives to Enter the Army

[my reflection]

After the class and discussion with my partner, I realized that it’s important for engineers participating in military research and development, because it’s about the safety of the country. However, what would support the engineers who devote themselves into the military R&D? Maybe patriotism, high salaries, good reputation, or maybe a stable job, and this is how Taiwan must reach in the future.

And the benefits are strong army and military technologies. The limitations are the weak development of other technology.
