Critical Commentary

AO: In this clip, Thomas Hervé Mboa Nkoudou reflects on the tension he has observed between some African socio-cultural values and certain aspects of (Western) maker space culture. For example, he notes that Open science is based on some core values like inclusiveness. But this core value may not work out in all contexts. In part of Africa, for example, he has noted a kind of tension between the verticality in traditional society and the horizontality of the maker movement.
