In June 2003, the Panamerican Health Organization, the World Health Organization and the Environment Ministry of Ecuador published the preliminary diagnosis of air quality management for Ecuador. This report based on secondary information from non-governmental as well as public and private organizations, indicates that despite policies, limited work has been done around air in Ecuador. Therefore, this document aimed to facilitate Environment Ministry in the further definition of general lineaments, which will allow to stablish air quality policies.
