Imitation is not innovation

No, what I think of as innovation is to invent or come up with new technologies or products, while imitation is just using other people's technology in your own products. This is not in line with what I think is innovation, and it may lead to patent rights issues due to imitating other people's technology. 

Imitation is innovation

I think imitation can be considered as innovation. Actually, most products nowadays are imitated from existing ideas and products. For example, as an imitator, IBM entered the computer industry, Texas Instruments the transistor industry.
