This seminar will be an opportunity to reflect on, celebrate and plan for the future of East Asian Science, Technology and Society: An International Journal. 

It also is an opportunity to honor the accomplishments of out-going EASTS editor-in-chief, Professor Wen-Hua Kuo (National Yang Ming Chiao University), ushering in Professor Wen-Ling Tu (National Chengchi University) as new editor in chief. 

9:30am - 9:45am:  Welcome and Introduction

9:45am - 11:00am: EASTS, 2018-2022

This session will explore the accomplishments, challenges, and lessons learned during the editorship of Wen-Hua Kuo. Remarks by Wen-Hua Kuo, with comments by EASTS Editorial Board members Adele Clarke and Mei Zhan. 

11:15am - 12:15pm STS Across Regions and Language

This session will explore the significance of regionally situated STS journals, and the future potential of extending multilingualism in STS publications. Remarks by Rodolfo Hernandez, with comments by Sharon Traweek. 

12:15pm - 1:15pm Lunch

1:15pm - 2:15pm STS in/as Open Science

This session will explore STS perspectives on open science, and the  future potential of research  data sharing in STS publications. Remarks by Angela Okune, with remarks by Kim Fortun 

 2:30-4:00 EASTS, 2023 - 2027

This session will explore the plans, goals and expected challenges during the EASTS editorship of Wen-Ling Tu. Remarks by Wen-Ling Tu, with comments by Hsin-Hsing Chen and Michael M. J. Fisher.
