Global Critical STS / / Critical Pedagogy

There is a community of STS practitioners interested in STS pedagogy, STS as critical pedagogy, and using classrooms as spaces for envisioning futures coupled to critical STS scholarship and committments to transdisciplinarity.

This group parallels these efforts, but with an emphasis on thinking across international scales, supporting real time teaching experiences across global cultures, and encouraging collaborations between researchers and instructors internationally. Most of us apply STS beyond the classroom, applied through engagement with community members and experimental learning moments in nature, with other species, and with indigenous communities. Individuals in this group come from a variety of backgrounds:

  • Activism
  • Environmental anthropology
  • History, Art, and Moral Philosophy
  • STS
  • Engineering Studies
  • Social movement studies
