Viability, Verification, Validity: 3Vs of Crowdsourcing

This study, funded by Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) was iHub Research's first foray into data science, applying machine learning techniques to analyzing Kenyan twitter data from the 2013 elections. This was an important project to help build out our data science capacities and also to establish a strong partnership with IDRC with whom we went on to partner in managing a research fund worth over 1.2 million Canadian dollars towards supporting Open and Collaborative Science research in the global South.
